
Jacky Snelling is a composer, pianist, improvisor, and collaborator (and part-time bassoonist) whose musical influences span many genres, from Oscar Peterson and Brad Mehldau to Earth, Wind, and Fire and Ben Folds. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Jacky holds a master’s degree in jazz and contemporary media from the Eastman School of Music and a bachelor’s degree in composition from the University of Missouri-Columbia. In addition to Mt. Rise, Jacky is the choral accompanist for the Spencerport School District and Temple Sinai in Brighton. When not composing or performing, Jacky is an avid traveler and a lover of geography, a follower of St. Louis sports, and a fan of strategy games.
